On December 18, 2025, H.E. Yang Shu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Grenada, and Hon. Kerryne James, Minister for Climate Resilience, the Environment and Renewable Energy, attended the official launch of the Refurhished Mt. Granby Community Center.

Ambassador Yang congratulated on the successful completion of the project. He said that China-Grenada cooperation has always focused on improving people’s livelihood, and the community center will serve as another fine example of China-Grenada practical cooperation. China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Grenada in various fields, implement the five programs for building a China-Latin America and the Caribbean Community with a shared future proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping as well as the consensus reached during Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell’s visit to China, carry out more cooperative projects in Grenada, and improve the well-being of the people.

Hon. Kerryne James thanked China for its assistance over the years, promised to make good use of and properly maintain the community center. She said that the government stands ready to deepen cooperation with China to elevate bilateral relations to a new level.
