On January 18, H.E. Ambassador Ren Hongyan attended the opening ceremony of a new exhibition, “The King of Calypso David Rudder: A Contemporary Griot”, held by the Trinidad and Tobago Carnival Museum(TTCM) in collaboration with the University of Trinidad and Tobago(UTT).

This exhibition is affectionately a way in celebrating the 40th anniversary of King Rudder’s famous triple crown dominating the T&T Carnival history. These archived collections also started TTCM’s series of exhibition in tribute to the contemporary cultural legends of the nation.
During the event, Ambassador Ren had the pleasure and honour to congratulate Dr.David Rudder, OCC, for his accolades and contributions, glorifying along the lane of success for decades, etching indelible marks on the cultural landscape not only in Trinidad and Tobago, but far beyond the boundaries.
Ambassador Ren highly commended the persistence of T&T’s cultural pillars in preserving the heritage alive and abundant, playing a pivotal role in shaping the economic and social development of the country.

When exchanging views with Professor Selwyn Cudjoe, ORTT, Chairman of the UTT, Mr.Kenny Attai and Dr.Rosalind Gabriel, board members of the Steering Committee of TTCM, Ambassador Ren underscored the importance and potential in advocating our bilateral cultural and academic exchanges, while exploring more collaboration in leveraging the momentum of culture, arts and tourism.
