On June 1, 2026, Ambassador Zheng Bingkai and the Hon. Christopher Sinckler, Senior Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados, signed the Development Cooperation Agreement on behalf of their respective governments. Accompanied by Deputy Chief of Mission Chen Chen.

Ambassador Zheng stated that Barbados was the first country in the Eastern Caribbean to establish diplomatic relations with China and has remained a good friend and reliable partner of China in the region. He noted that China stands ready to continue upholding the principles of mutual respect and mutual benefit, support Barbados' economic and social development, assist its economic diversification and transformation efforts, and promote the sustained and in-depth development of the China-Barbados Partnership.
Minister Christopher Sinckler expressed appreciation for China's longstanding and valuable support to Barbados. He stated that Barbados stands ready to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with China across various fields, achieve more tangible outcomes through practical cooperation, and deliver greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.
