Ambassador Ren Hongyan Meets With UTT Executive Chairman Professor Selwyn R. Cudjoe, O.R.T.T and UTT Acting President Professor Rean Maharaj

On June 30, H.E.Ambassador Ren Hongyan held a meeting with Professor Selwyn R. Cudjoe, O.R.T.T. Executive Chairman of the University of Trinidad and Tobago(UTT) and Acting President of UTT Professor Rean Maharaj.  


Ambassador Ren noted that education cooperation played an important role in promoting the comprehensive cooperative partnership between China and Trinidad and Tobago. This year marked the 220th anniversary of the first Chinese arriving on the shores of the beautiful country, it was anticipated that from the renewed milestone, more Chinese higher learning education and research institutions would be engaged in exchanges and collaboration with UTT among all counterparts in Trinidad and Tobago. Spotlighted efforts would be made to enhance collaborative initiatives such as friendly visits and cross-cultural mutual appreciation in education, academics and research, so as to inject strengthened momentum into our bilateral ties.


Professor Cudjoe and Professor Maharaj commended China as UTT’s focused direction in seeking expanded international cooperation. Dedicated to explore more synergy in structured collaboration with Chinese tertiary education institutions, UTT projected the enhancement of academic, teaching and research achievements of both sides through the pathway, hence to graduate more highly competent students ready to serve the nations and the peoples.
