On July 1, 2026, the signing ceremony for the implementation plan and launch event of the Phase 9 China-aided Agricultural Technical Cooperation Project in Grenada was successfully held in St. George’s. H.E. Yang Shu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Grenada, Mr. Yin Chao, Team Leader for the Agricultural Project, Hon. Lennox Andrews, Minister for the Ministry of Economic Development, Planning, Agriculture and Lands, Forestry, Blue Economy, Marine Resources and Cooperatives of Grenada, and Mr. Williams, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Agriculture, attended the ceremony and delivered remarks.
Ambassador Yang stated that the day marked the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Under the firm leadership of the Party, China has reaped fruitful achievements in agricultural development. Agricultural technical cooperation stands as a cornerstone of pragmatic China-Grenada cooperation. China stands ready to share its proven agricultural technologies and development experience to help Grenada raise agricultural quality and efficiency, break through bottlenecks in industrial development, and better meet local people’s livelihood needs.
The Grenadian side expressed sincere gratitude for China’s agricultural assistance extended since the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two countries. It noted that the current project aligns with Grenada’s agricultural development blueprint, describing it as a people-centered and sustainable initiative. Grenada looks forward to taking this project as an opportunity to further deepen cooperation in agriculture and continuously consolidate the friendly bilateral relationship.
