On August 28, 2026, H.E. Yang Shu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Grenada, met with Hon. Gloria Thomas, Minister for social and community development, housing and gender affairs of Grenada and Mr. Jason Williams, general manager of the Housing Authority of Grenada. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on furthering bilateral cooperation in women’s development and housing.

Ambassador Yang stated that empowering women and advancing affordable housing constitute two key livelihood‑related issues. He expressed the hope that China and Grenada will cherish and consolidate existing cooperation outcomes, continue to deepen pragmatic cooperation across relevant fields, jointly advance the development of women’s causes in both countries, improve access to affordable housing locally, and comprehensively enhance the well‑being of the two peoples.

Minister Thomas thanked China for its long‑term support for Grenada’s development and spoke highly of the outcomes of bilateral livelihood cooperation. She committed to properly manage and operate ongoing cooperation initiatives. The Grenadian side looks forward to further expanding cooperation in women’s development and affordable housing to deliver greater benefits to the people of Grenada.
