On 11 September 2026, H.E. Yang Shu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Grenada, attended the handover ceremony for the PV Energy Storage Demonstration Project at Calliste Government School.

Ambassador Yang said that the project represents a practical initiative to deliver outcomes of Hon. Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell’s visit to China. It will not only improve power supply conditions for the school, but also offer students a vivid real-world case for learning about renewable energy. Boasting rich practical experience in green-energy transition, China stands ready to take this project as a starting point to deepen pragmatic green-energy cooperation with Grenada and support the country’s energy transition.

The Grenadian side expressed gratitude for China’s long-standing assistance for Grenada’s development. It noted that the project bears both people-centered benefits and demonstration value. Grenada pledged to properly operate and maintain the system, and looked forward to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with China in the field of green energy going forward.
