On October 9th, H.E. Ambassador Ren Hongyan was invited to attend the World Cocoa and Chocolate Day Expo hosted by Cocoa Research Center, and had in-depth exchanges with Prof. Umaharan, Director of CRC, and exhibitors.

Ambassador Ren listened carefully to the entire process of cocoa cultivation in the local area and the overview of the chocolate industry development. He expressed that the cocoa quality in Trinidad and Tobago is excellent and the flavor is unique. China is willing to deepen exchanges with the Trinidad and Tobago side in areas such as cocoa planting, processing, and brand management, to enhance the popularity of cocoa products in China and promote the continuous improvement and upgrading of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

The World Cocoa and Chocolate Day is on October 1st and was established by the International Cocoa Organization (ICCO). Research institutions in cocoa-producing regions around the world, including Trinidad and Tobago, hold expos every year to showcase their products and conduct on-site chocolate-making demonstrations, aiming to expand the influence of the local cocoa industry.
