
On December 9, 2025, Zhang Run, Director-General of the Department of Latin American and Caribbean Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held talks with the delegation of LAC national coordinators for CELAC. Representatives from the Latin American and Caribbean diplomatic envoys in China and representatives from relevant members of the Chinese Follow-Up Commitee of the China-CELAC Forum attended the meeting.
Director-General Zhang introduced the progress in implementing the outcomes of the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum and the work plan for the next phase. He emphasized that China always attached great importance to the development of China-LAC relations from a strategic and long-term perspective. China is willing to work with LAC countries to jointly navigate the changing international landscape, seek development through cooperation, continuously advance the implementation of five programs for building a China-LAC community with a shared future, to better benefit the people of both sides and promote regional peace and stability.
The LAC representatives spoke positively of the progress in implementing the outcomes of the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum and appreciated China's support for the construction of the Latin American and Caribbean Zone of Peace. All parties expressed their willingness to adhere to multilateralism with China, focus on practical cooperation, continue to promote the implementation of the Ministerial Meeting outcomes, and jointly build a China-LAC community with a shared future.
