On October 9, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Grenada hosted an Open Day event themed "Bamboo Weaving Experience," attended by Chargé d'Affaires Xue Junying, who delivered remarks. About 20 faculty members and students from T.A. Marryshow Community College participated in the event.

The Chargé d'Affaires noted that cultural exchange and mutual learning are integral parts of the relationship between China and Grenada. Bamboo weaving is not only a cherished item of China's intangible cultural heritage but also a practical skill that can generate employment and livelihoods; it embodies the inclusive development philosophy found in the Global Development Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping. She expressed hope that the students would master this craft and contribute to employment growth and the improvement of people's well-being in Grenada.
The event was lively and engaging. Chen Song, a senior arts and crafts master and member of the Chinese agricultural mission in Grenada, demonstrated the craft and provided profesional guidance. Students enthusiastically tried their hand at weaving and exchanged ideas, thoroughly enjoying the experience.
The students remarked that the event allowed them to experience the unique charm of Chinese culture and learn to weave traditional Chinese "safety ornaments." They look forward to more opportunities to experience and learn about China.
