On June 5, World Environment Day, H.E. Ambassador Ren Hongyan met with Senator Anthony Vieira of the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago, Director of the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute, and a renowned environmental scientist. The two sides exchanged views on China–Trinidad and Tobago cooperation and other issues of mutual interest.

Ambassador Ren noted that China attaches great importance to ecological civilization and is actively advancing green and low-carbon development. He commended Senator Vieira for his long-standing commitment to environmental protection and his positive contributions to sustainable development. Looking ahead, China and Trinidad and Tobago can further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in areas such as green transition and new energy vehicles, continuously enriching the comprehensive partnership between China and Trinidad and Tobago.

Senator Vieira warmly recalled his previous visit to China and spoke highly of the remarkable achievements China has made in economic and social development as well as ecological civilization. He expressed his willingness to continue playing an active role in promoting practical cooperation between the two countries.
